The Temple Solel family comes together to celebrate Shabbat, Jewish Holidays and Life Cycle Events. Our services are fully egalitarian (men and women participate equally). Services include both Hebrew and English. We use both traditional and contemporary melodies. Our services are open to all - members and non-members, Jews and non-Jews. Learn about our special services for those Families with Young Children. Check out our calendar for upcoming dates and times.

Friday Night Services
Friday night services are held every Shabbat. Join us as we welcome in Shabbat with prayer and song. Music is either led by the choir or a choir member. Please check the calendar for dates when the full choir sings. Services are followed by a festive oneg (Hebrew word for delight or joy; a dessert reception).

Tot Shabbat
On the third Friday of the month at 6:30 p.m. we host Tot Shabbat which is a service appropriate for toddlers, preschoolers and their families (including older siblings). This service is then followed by a congregational service at 8:00 p.m.

Family Service
On the second Friday of the month at 6:30 p.m. we host a Family Service which is appropriate for school-aged children and their families. This service is often followed by a congregational dinner; check the calendar for details.

Shabbat Mornings
Torah Study is held every Shabbat morning at 9 a.m. except in the summer months; please check the calendar. All are welcome to study Torah with Rabbi Weisman and enjoy a traditional bagel nosh.

Shabbat services are held on Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m. whenever we are celebrating a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. The entire congregation is invited to celebrate Shabbat with our B’nai Mitzvah. Please visit our calendar for our Saturday morning schedule.

Temple Solel celebrates the cycle of the Jewish holidays, taking us from Rosh Hashanah to the giving of Torah on Shavuot and beyond. The holidays offer us opportunities to come together as a community with prayer and celebration. We offer holiday programming for all members of our community, from tots to adults!

We gather for meals in the sukkah during the holiday of Sukkot. We dance and sing in the sanctuary on Simchat Torah. And from Hanukah to Purim to Pesach the Jewish holidays connect us to our rich heritage.

Yizkor (Memorial Services)
Yizkor services are held on Yom Kippur, Shemini Atzeret, Passover and Shavuot, providing a moment of quiet reflection and remembrance. Please refer to the calendar for service times or contact the office at (301) 249-2424.
